Sapporo Clock Tower
Sapporo Clock Tower was built as the hall of Hokkaido University in 1878. It was moved to the current place, opposite the city hall of Sapporo in 1906.
Sapporo Clock Tower is one of the most symbolic monuments of Sapporo. Whenever I go to the downtown, I can find this old fashion building as an accent among modern buildings. However, I went into the building only a few times. The importance of this building is its appearance, same as the Status of Liberty or Pyramids.
Sapporo Clock Tower will be renovated from next year for the first time in 20 years. I hope that its appearance can be seen from outside during the construction. It's enough for it.
