Marui-Imai
Sapporo Marui Mitsukoshi is a company which has department stores in Sapporo. One of its department stores is Marui-Imai and it was known “Marui-san”. Although Marui-Imai has been loved by local people, it has bankrupted 3 times. In 2009, Marui-Imai was acquired by Mitsukoshi-Isetan holdings, a major department store group.
Marui-Imai had been a major department store in Hokkaido since the pioneer days. Although it started as a small shop, it had developed due to its diligent and honest business. It had contributed to the development of this area through supplying mass products with reasonable prices. Thus people loved this store.
A few days ago, I went to this department store to buy a lunch. On its food department, I could buy a nice lunch box with reasonable price. I was happy about it, but there was no place to eat the lunch at this department store. I had to look for a place to eat it. Eventually, I went to the city hall across this department store and eat it there. The taste of the lunch box was so nice. I hope this department store will have a place to eat lunch box in it. Otherwise, the entrance of the city hall will be filled with people eating lunch boxes.
