Voice of foreign students: After graduation
I’ve introduced the voices of foreign students. There are also voices about their careers after graduation in the same survey. This time, I will introduce them.
This question asked career options after graduations to foreign students in 3 Japanese cities, Sapporo, Nagoya and Fukuoka. According to the survey, 22.5% of answerers in Sapporo said that they want to find jobs in the city or region where was located by their university, followed by 20.7% of Nagoya and 15.4% of Fukuoka. On the other hand, 35.1% of answerers in Fukuoka said that they wanted to go back their countries and find jobs, followed by 33.7% of Nagoya and 22.5% of Sapporo. These results suggest that foreign students in Sapporo may prefer this city than those in Nagoya and Fukuoka.
Then, how do potential employers think? According to another survey, 39.5% of answers are interested in opening branches overseas. In another question, 21.1% of answers who were companies in Sapporo said that they are interested in ordering some jobs to foreign students, and 13.2% of answers are interested in recruitments of them. On the other hand, only 6.5% of answerers are hiring foreign students. It can be said that some of the local companies are interested in international business and foreign students, but most of them still don't experience to work with foreign students. There may be some difficulty to match each other.
